Our team is our most important asset.

Investing in our team is our foundation for designing smart solutions. We provide a positive, nurturing and sustainable work environment, with regular professional and technical training for our staff to expand their knowledge. We plan and schedule projects to maintain work weeks that encourage time with family and pursuit of personal interest and knowledge, and accommodate our team's needs with flexible work hours.

I’m a projects guy who loves building things. Cabins, home remodeling, just give me a drill! Spending time outdoors on my mountain bike or going for walks in the woods is a good time to reflect on life. I also love what we do, getting to draw and create is still how I like to spend (most) of my day.  I cherish spending time with my family and wished they all lived closer to us.

Staff Designer

Whitney is an artist and designer originally from the coastal regions of the Southeast. In spring of 2021, she relocated to Bainbridge Island with her husband, daughter, dog and three chickens. Through her work in architecture and interiors, she aspires to design spaces that encourage a symbiotic relationship between humans and nature, with a belief that this reciprocity strengthens our sense of place and belonging. Eager to embrace Pacific Northwest living, she enjoys her time off running the Grand Forest trails or by the water looking for seaborn treasures with her daughter.

Dan grew up in New England, where he developed a lifelong fondness for stone walls, mature trees, and historic places. He aspires to prioritize humaneness in all aspects of environmental design. He especially enjoys the analytical and technical challenges of architectural practice. In his free time, he and his family search the Kitsap Peninsula for otters, coyotes, raccoons, owls, and other wildlife.

Mary White Peters

Office Manager

Mary is amazed to realize she’s been helping run the show at Wenzlau Architects for 17 years. Originally from the Southeast, she has lived in the PNW almost long enough to feel like a northwesterner. Mary enjoys hiking & biking with friends, visiting her adult kids in Sun Valley & NYC, and occasionally playing (or at least pretending to play) her ukulele.
