Development project near Bainbridge ferry terminal includes 115 apartments, plus town houses and public park

Bainbridge officials will get a close look at the plans for a four-story, 115-unit apartment building next to Harbor Square in downtown Winslow at a design review meeting next week.

The apartment-building surge on the Kitsap Peninsula continues, and has brought two well-known developers together on a proposed project near the Bainbridge Island ferry.

Bainbridge architect Charlie Wenzlau is working on the site design, and said one of the unique and exciting aspects of Bainbridge Landing is making it a “transit-oriented development.”

Renowned Bainbridge Island firm Wenzlau Architects, along with Browne Wheeler Engineers and the Fischer Bouma Partnership planning and design studio, will contribute their services to the Fort Ward Community Hall project.

Wenzlau Architects and Robert Moore Architect, both of Bainbridge Island, have partnered with Habitat for Humanity to design and construct Habitat’s second Passive House on the West Coast.
