Within walking distance of downtown Langley, Second Street Cabins bring a new housing option to the Whidbey Island community: small size (550 sf) coupled with energy efficiency. Conceived by Jim Soules (a founding partner of the Cottage Company), this project exemplifies his passion for creating innovative pocket communities. ​Energy efficiency is achieved using a SIPS system (structurally insulated panels). When combined with solar arrays, these homes become 'Net Zero' possible.

The Second Street Cabins project illustrates how to blend a modest density increase into an older neighborhood, while creating a pocket community that has a lighter environmental footprint.
